News from the Anderson’s Sunset Winery in Burleson, 2009

·         Our 2004 "Sun Ray" Cabernet Sauvignon garnered our first GOLD medal a few months ago at the 2008 Lone Star International Wine Competition.  At about the same time it took a Bronze at California's 2008 Women in Wine Competition.  More recently it took a bronze at the  2009 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Wines Uncorked Competition.

·         Our 2004 "Moon Glow" Merlot earned our second GOLD medal and Class Champion awards at the  2009 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Wines Uncorked Competition.  It also took a bronze at the 2008 Lone Star International Wine Competition.

·         We have entered 7 wines in competitions and earned 17 awards, and counting.

·         Our wines are now available at Central Market and Two Bucks... and Wine Frog, our new distributor is getting them out.

·         Our Valentine's dinner menu should be up on our web site, www.sunsetwinery.com , tomorrow.  We'd love to welcome some RCCE neighbors to this annual celebration on either Friday or Saturday February 13th or 14th.

Bruce and Birgit Anderson as their Sunset Winery Captures Another Medal, 2008

The latest award was a Bronze medal for their 2004 Texas High Plains, Newsom Vineyard “Moon Glow” Merlot at the 2008 Dallas Morning News Wine Competition.   Bruce was delighted to have placed in this prestigious competition as his wine was competing against some of the best wines from around the world.

His wife and co-winemaker Birgit added:  “It is exciting that our first vintage (2003) wines all earned medals and now our second vintages (2004) wines are also earning medals competing with long established, prestigious wineries,”
