GENERAL INFORMATION ON

CODE BLUE – CITIZENS ON PATROL PROGRAM

The RCCE COP program began in the summer of 2006. Volunteer neighbors will be conducting vehicular patrols within the RCCE community, while in radio contact with FWPD dispatchers, and monitored by our assigned Neighborhood Police Officer (NPO). COP’s function is expressly to observe. report, but not enforce, any violations or criminal activity. Communication with the Benbrook PD, will be: 911 for emergencies, or (817) 249-1610 for non-emergency situations. The City of Benbrook does not have a Code Blue COP program in place at this time.

Patrols will be conducted on designated thoroughfares within the community. Private property will not be patrolled, without specific, written permission from owners of such property. RCCEHA code violations will not be transmitted over the police net, but if flagrant, and at the discretion of the patrol individual, will be reported to the association for enforcement.

COP vehicles will be identified as such with magnetic signs, and individuals by distinctive clothing, and I.D. badges. The frequency, and duration, of patrols is directly proportional to the number of volunteer COP’S.

WE NEED ADDITIONAL PATROL VOLUNTEERS. Certification consists of an eight hour training class at FWPD facilities , the next occurring in October, and two, four- hour shifts accompanying an on-duty, FWPD beat officer.
